A PNG is a grid of pixels. Enlarge it and the edges turn blocky; recolor it and you have to repaint every pixel. An SVG describes the same picture as shapes and curves, so it stays sharp at any size and each color can be changed in one click.
Many "PNG to SVG" tools simply wrap your PNG inside an SVG file. It has the right extension, but it is still pixels: it blurs when you scale it and a cutting machine cannot use it. This converter traces the image into real vector paths instead.
Transparent PNGs stay transparent: areas with no pixels are left empty in the SVG, so your logo or icon drops onto any background without a white box around it.
The result opens in Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, Affinity Designer, CorelDRAW, Cricut Design Space and every web browser.
